It has been said that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. But imitation is no substitute for the original CHEMEX® coffeemaker brewing system. The story began in 1930’s Manhattan, when inventor and chemist, Dr. Peter Schlumbohm, set out to design a coffeemaker to brew the perfect cup of coffee. In his workshop he discovered that the perfect cup comes from a combination of perfect extraction and perfect filtration. From this, the CHEMEX® was born.
